GHB2013 TAKES PLACE AT HAVILAH CENTRE VICTORIA ISLAND LAGOS FROM APRIL 17TH-19TH 2013

The LWI Annual Multi-sectoral Exposition, GHB2013 took place at Havilah Centre, Victoria Island Lagos from Wednesday April 17th -Friday April 19th 2013. The event which was well attended by dignitaries from all walks of life, brought together the multi-sectors of the economy under the banner of healthcare. The event ‘bankers’, Skye Bank Plc, made a corporate statement of distinction and panache, as their exquisite exhibition stand welcomed all attendees to the 3-day exposition. The event airline,United Airlines, had a palpable presence while Oando Plc made a statement with its display stand and the O-Gas which gave out 2 cylinders of gas daily as free raffle draw wins.
Day 1: OIL & GAS DAY AT GHB2013 The event was declared open on behalf of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Lagos, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, by the Honourable Commissioner for Energy & Mineral Resources Engr Taofeek Tijani, who in his personal recognition Chaired the opening Plenary Session at GHb2013 titled ‘Power & Energy’ – a boost to the Ecosystem and robust health.

PLENARIES: With the theme ‘Sustaining Wealth creation through Health Solutions & Partnerships’; and subtheme ‘Power & Energy’ – a boost to the Ecosystem and robust health’; the day’s Plenaries were led by the Honorable commissioner for Energy & mineral Resources Engr Taofeek Tinaji (Plenary 1) and Dr Diran Fawibe (Plenary 2). The plenaries highlighted the Green Gas, Green evolution and even Gree cooking through WAWA. It was very enlightening and eye-opening as NESG took us through the topic Health and Entrepreneurship’. All the speakers were very eloquent and Engr Tijani’s Plenary was extremely stimulating and rewarding.
LWI HEALTH FAIR: LiveWell Initiative LWI offered FREE health screenings , free counselling and free medicines to all attendees who stopped over at the adjoining LWI Health Fair. Free screenings were carried out including BP, Sugar, Stress Test, BMI, malaria Tests, Hepatitis B Screening, HIV/AIDS voluntary Counselling and Testing in partnership with the USAID APIN Initiative.
RAFFLE DRAW: The raffle draw took place on Day 1, for one of the two donated United Airlines return tickets to Houston. The draw was conducted by Director of Public Health Lagos State, Dr Jemilade Longe and , the winner was Mr Francis of UTC Group. The event was quite fulfilling, with a great turnout of attendees. Nestle was very generous with its distribution of free Water, Golden Morn Breakfast and maggi-cooked meals for women at GHB2013. Schools and Professionals from all walks of life attended the ‘very busy’ exposition. SeveralPharmaceutical companies present gave out free multivitamins and tonics including Takebe by Megacare/Tarok Group,Multamin by May & Baker and Ovacare/Oligocare by Adler Vitabiotics Group.
Day 2: REAL ESTATE DAY AT GHB2013: The Day 2 Event, Real Estate day, was centred on the theme’ Building in Safety and Safety in Buildings: a learning Continuum

The draw was conducted by Permsec Lands & Housing Osun State, Arc Wale Ojo . The event was quite fulfilling, with a great turnout of attendees. Broadway International School and Professionals from all walks of life attended the ‘very busy’ exposition. DAY 3: AVIATION DAY AT GHB2013: The Day 3 Event, Aviation Day, was centred on the theme’ Travellers’ Medicines and In-flight healthcare’
PROMINENT GUESTS AND ATTENDEES: The Honorable Commissioner of Health Osun State, Dr (Mrs) Temitope Ilori, declared the event open on behalf of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Osun State, Gov Rauf Aregbesola. She gave His Excellency’s Commendation and Approval of GHB2013, reminding the audience that Osun State had planned to participate at GHB2012 but inadvertently could not come. Lagos State was represented by Dr Femi Olugbile, Hon Permsec Health Lagos whose proxy Dr Mrs Shokunbi read a speech on behalf of the Lagos State Ministry of Health. Honorable Minister of Health, Republic of Mozambique Dr Alexandre Manguele ably represented by Dr Celia Goncalves chaired the day’s Plenaries. Managing Director Sahara Aviation, who doubles as CEO of Sahara Oil & Gas, Mr Alistair Morrison, was present. Principal Partners Skye Bank Plc , Oando Plc and United Airlines were prominently present. General Manager Sahara Aviation, Antonella Saldo, delivered an eye-opening paper on health and safety by So Aviation, The CEO of Delta Airlines Mr Femi Adefope, Regulatory Affairs Director of Pfizer Plc Mrs Bunmi Femi-Oyekan and Provost LUTH Prof Sade Ogunsola were Plenary Session Speakers. Director of Public Health Lagos State Dr Jemilade Longe was represented by Dr Monsie Adeleke. and, President WOCON Mrs Bisi Olateru-Olagbegi, among others.
RAFFLE DRAW: The final grand raffle draw took place on Day 3, for the donated Business Class Return Ticket to Houston, courtesy nited Airlines. In addition, there was a GoTV Decoder with one month’s free subscription as second prize, donated by Nuvox Communications and two Oando Gas Cylinders as third and fourth prizes respectively. The Grand Prize Draw was made by Skye bank Plc, the official bank for GHb2013 while Oando Plc and United Airlines picked the second and third prizes respectively. Other prizes won were, two O-Gas Cylinders courtesy Oando Plc.
